Board your Cobb and Co Stagecoach for an exhilarating gallop through the bush and a leisurely trot through Longreach town. Afterwards, spend some time in the Kinnon & Co Station Store, an amazing outback emporium. Lark Quarry

Join a tour with local operator Red Dirt Tours to Lark Quarry to view the world's only recorded fossilised footprints of a dinosaur stampede from 95 million years ago, when herds of small two-legged dinosaurs were stalked by a huge meat-eating theropod. Your tour returns to Winton mid afternoon with time to wander the local opal shops and other attractions. Tonight have a real Outback pub meal at the famous Tatts Hotel.

Winton to Mount Isa (and return flight to Brisbane)

Blue Heeler

As you travel northwest, around 16 km east of Kyuna, you may visit the true swagman’s billabong where the story of Waltzing Matilda is said to have taken place. In Kyuna, have a drink in the Blue Heeler Hotel, said to be where both the swagman and squatter had their last drinks. Further on in the town of McKinlay drop in to the Walkabout Creek Hotel made famous in the Paul Hogan movie “Crocodile Dundee.” Learn the Royal Flying Doctor's story at Cloncurry's John Flynn Place. The drive concludes in Mount Isa, where you can take an underground mine tour at Outback at Isa, relax at Lake Moondarra, visit the School of the Air or tour the Underground Hospital, before taking a return flight home to Brisbane.
