Key Note Speaker: Tracey Mathers

Tracey Mathers is a trusted advisor to those wanting to build and maintain success in business. With retail running through her veins, third generation retailer Tracey Mathers has been continuing the family tradition for over 25 years. As the Grandaughter of the founder of Mathers Shoes it was inevitable she would become a leading retailer in her field. Having had up to six stores she has learnt to deal with all areas of running a successful business.

With 35 years experience in both the retail and the corporate world Tracey has a wealth of knowledge in all different aspects that she passes on through her work as a professional advisor, speaker and mentor.

Having spent years on sales, leadership, managing people, communication, conflict management, negotiation, social media, marketing and how to get the best from your team, she has already made the mistakes and learnt what works and what doesn’t.

Her passion is people, and helping others to achieve their dream of having success in their lives has been the next natural progression in Tracey’s career path. She sold her stores in July 2016 to concentrate on her mentoring business.

Ian Perkins - Director Blurb Consulting

Ian Perkins knows the power of strategically building a business voice. It has enabled him to build a number of companies into market leading positions and sell them at their peak.

By his mid twenties, Ian Perkins was building his family business Associated Fashion Distributors (AFD) into one of the largest fashion agencies in Australia, representing Table Eight, Dolina, Aero, Stitches, Black Pepper, Sunshades – Just to name a few. After selling AFD, he joined Geiger Enterprises as Managing Director, where he strategically moved all production and distribution of their three brands Geiger, Lavender Road and Blue Skies offshore to China.

Thirteen months later he purchased two of the brands and focused on balancing successful wholesale relationships with national department store chain David Jones and in excess of 500 boutiques around Australia and New Zealand, as well as building a key concession business with Harris Scarfe.

With such a proven track record of building business, in an ever changing market, Ian soon identified the need to strategically build his next business voice – A vertically integrated retail business which he named Sorbet.

Ian Perkins now spends his time strategically building business voices for other business owners, locally, nationally and internationally.

Peter Gash - Managing Director, Lady Elliot Island

Peter Gash has been the Chief Pilot of Seair Pacific since 1989. In 1985 Peter commenced his first aviation business and made the decision that his future was in aviation/tourism. He offered joy flights on the beach at Tipplers Resort (Gold Coast) and Great Barrier Reef Day Tours to Lady Musgrave Island. This eventually led to Peter buying Seair Pacific, initially with 1 aircraft.

Peter has since grown the business to 10 aircraft, with Hangars and facilities at Coolangatta and Hervey Bay airport along with approximately 100 employees.

Peter is also the Managing Director and Leaseholder of Lady Elliot Island who has been able to transform this tiny island located at the southernmost end of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef from wasteland to ecotourism destination.
