As you journey along the Warrego Highway, take a turn (for the better) to the Brisbane Valley Highway towards Esk. Your first stop is the charming town of Fernvale. Feast on an award-winning pie at the Old Fernvale Bakery or delve into a delicious delicacy from Tree Change Café. After you’ve stocked up on tasty treats, continue north to the expansive waters of Lake Wivenhoe.

Free camp: Geoffrey Fisher Bridge: Located conveniently along the Brisbane Valley Highway, this overnight free rest area is a great place for fully self-contained caravanners to rest and rejuvenate.
Play: Take a dip or enjoy a spot of fishing on the lake. Hire a canoe from Camping Wivenhoe and go for a peaceful paddle along the calming waters of Lake Wivenhoe.

Play: Unhitch and relish a scenic drive to Spring Bluff Historic Railway, home to Queensland's most beautiful railway station, serene walkways, and lush gardens. Then, swing by Murphys Creek Tavern for their renowned steak sandwich!

Play: Dive into Lake Dyer for a refreshing swim, hop on a kayak for some aquatic fun, or try your luck with fishing. Experience pure tranquillity as you bushwalk and birdwatch surrounded in nature’s wonders.
