Ride the Range (RTR) is one of the best community challenge rides in South Queensland. In 2010 two avid Rotarian cyclists decided that cyclists surrounding Toowoomba and the Southern region of Queensland needed to experience a ‘real challenge.’ They believed the range on which they lived was all the inspiration they needed to take on this challenge.
By enlisting a group of like minded cycling enthusiasts and the volunteering arm of their Rotary Club they started to plan one of the most successful community rides in Queensland today. Their inaugural ride was in May 2011 with just under 100 cyclists.
Ride the Range is about to embark into its ninth year. The event has shown consistent positive growth in cyclists, community support, sponsorship and attention year after year and 2019 looks to be one of the biggest yet.
The Toowoomba Range is one of the most intense, premier cycling experiences in Southeast Queensland. The last section of the ride is the climb. Reaching gradients of 16 per cent and stretching for 10 kilometres this blatant smack in the face to the returning cyclist after completing over 100 kilometres already is definitely going to push anyone's limits!
