The Brisbane Valley Rail Trail reimagines the romance of rail travel in Queensland into a unique opportunity for bike riders to experience the scenic beauty and history of South-East Queensland.
Though the tracks and the trains are long gone, the quaint historical stations remain with the rail line now reborn as a fantastic off-road trail running from Yarraman to Wulkuraka in Ipswich.
The trail meanders through gullies and around the tough hills, climbing and descending along gentle gradients.
This three-day adventure along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail will find you camping overnight in Moore and Coominya, and passing through many classically country Queensland towns, steeped in a history forged by the rail line.
Like the old steam trains of yesteryear – take your time as you travel from Yarraman to Moore on day 1 (50 kilometres), Moore to Coominya on day 2 (70 kilometres), and Coominya back to Wulkuraka (40 kilometres) where you left your car three days earlier.
Join them on this three-day adventure through farmland and forests, fording more than a creek or two, and relishing the quality, gravel surface along the trail. It’s the perfect trail for all levels of riders, both new and experienced.
