Stanthorpe
The Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Harvest Festival has been 'crushing it' since 1966! The festival is a celebration of the Granite Belt region’s produce and booming wine industry. Highlights include the grape crushing, grand parade, food & wine fiesta and the Banquetto Italiano (lunch). There's also busking, a steam train, live music, an apple pie competition, apple peeling competition, markets, open gardens, fireworks and much more. An average of over 60,000 people attend the festival, held every second year. Festival entertainment and the party-filled atmosphere will spill out into the streets on the big finale weekend 1 - 3 March 2024. You can kick start the weekend with the Apple and Grape Gala Ball on the Friday night and fill the weekend with the must-see Grand Parade that runs through the centre of Stanthorpe and afterwards the celebrity grape crushing championships and the Street Carnival. The first weekend of the festival features the South East Qld Finals of the Australian National Busking Championships. Buskers on every street corner Saturday 24 February is reason enough to be in Stanthorpe on the first festival weekend, but you can be sure the crowds come just as much for Sunday’s Banchetto Italiano (Italian Long Lunch) which celebrate’s Stanthorpe’s Italian heritage.
