Toowoomba
Experience extraordinary cinema when the Travelling Film Festival comes to Toowoomba for the 50th anniversary! This year's program highlights include the Cannes Grand Prix 2024 winner, All We Imagine As Light. The first Indian film to appear in the Cannes Competition in 30 years, Payal Kapadia's dreamy romantic drama follows two women in Mumbai who are thwarted in their quests for love but retain hope. Another extraordinary highlight includes Jaydon Martin's Australian directorial debut Flathead. Combining social realism and an immersive documentary feel, the winner of Special Jury Award at the 2024 International Film Festival Rotterdam tells the story of an elderly man returning home to Bundaberg on a spiritual quest. With a special Q&A with the director after the screening! Other honourable mentions includes SXSW Austin 2024 winner Sing Sing, based on an inspiring true story starring Oscar Nominee Colman Domingo from Greg Kwedar and Australian Sally Aitken's Every Little Thing, which fills the screen with compassion as a woman finds herself caring for hummingbirds. And more! Tickets are now on sale.
