Make a complete 12 spoke wagon wheel in this workshop with wheelwright Kerry Riehl

Prerequisite: Nil

Cost includes expert instruction, all materials, morning tea and lunch.

Requirements: Please wear closed in boots (or steel capped), long trousers and long sleeves

This workshop has a maximum of eight participants.

What you will do
You will assemble a complete twelve spoke wagon wheel from a hand made kit provided by our resident wheelwright Kerry Riehl. You will also personally make one of each item used in the construction including a spoke, felloe and hub. At the end of the five-day workshop, you will have a completed wheel to take home.

Meet your tutor
Wheelwright Kerry Riehl is a joiner by trade. He has been making and repairing wooden wheels for over 30 years, starting with his grandparents’ old carts and drays. Kerry is passionate about passing on the skills of wheelwrighting and is a regular demonstrator at Cobb+Co Museum.
