STOP1

Toowoomba to Stanthorpe

Arrive at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport mid-morning and collect your hire car and travel south-west on the Drayton-Wellcamp Road towards Cambooya and Nobby in the heart of Steele Rudd Country. Make a lunch stop at Rudd’s Pub in Nobby and see the quirky Steele Rudd memorabilia before passing through Allora, the childhood home of Mary Poppins creator PL Travers. Travel the New England Highway to Warwick and tour Glengallan Homestead, the 1867 sandstone mansion which tells the story from squattocracy to farm settlement. Sample locally-produced cider and fresh apple pie at Suttons Apple Farm and Cidery and taste an award-winning Verdelho at Robert Channon Wines. Enjoy the freshest of local produce dining at the award-winning Varias Restaurant.
Stay in Stanthorpe for two nights in one of the many cosy cottages, cabins or Bed and Breakfasts.

STOP2

Granite Belt Tour and Girraween National Park

Drive south to Glen Aplin and Jamworks to sample delicious jams and conserves. Continue on to see Girraween National Park’s intriguing balancing boulders, abundant birdlife and spectacular wildflowers in Spring.
Enjoy a delicious seasonal lunch at the Barrel Room Cafe and Larder in nearby Ballandean, finally, join a guided Granite Belt bicycle tour for spectacular views, native wildlife and award winning wines.

STOP3

Stanthorpe to Toowoomba

Pass through pretty country fields on the Stanthorpe-Inglewood Road to Coolmunda, there you can join an olive grove tour and tasting at Coolmunda Olive Farm.

Follow the Millmerran-Inglewood Road to Millmerran, which is home to the annual Camp Oven Festival.

Travel the country roads on your way to return your hire car to Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport by mid-afternoon.
