QUEENSLAND HOTEL
James Ellis has created a number of street murals
around Goondiwindi, including at the Queensland
Hotel. James was asked to represent the Sunshine
State with a giant cane toad on one side of the
building, and a piece highlighting the hotel’s
legendary ‘Snake Pit’ on the other.

ROYAL HOTEL
James worked with O’Shea’s Royal Hotel on this
iconic Aussie concept: a kangaroo enjoying a
schooner of ice-cold beer on a hot day, against a
backdrop of a bush sunset.

GUNSYND MOTOR INN
As James was driving through town, he noticed the
blank wall of the Gunsynd Motor Inn and decided
to approach the owner about the possibility of
bringing the wall to life. They agreed, and James
painted Gunsynd – the Goondiwindi Grey and
Australian icon – on a vibrant outback backdrop.
