Tracey Mathers is a trusted advisor to those wanting to build and maintain success in business. With retail running through her veins, third generation retailer Tracey Mathers has been continuing the family tradition for over 25 years. As the granddaughter of the founder of Mathers Shoes it was inevitable she would become a leading retailer in her field. With 35 years’ experience in both the retail and the corporate world Tracey has a wealth of knowledge in all different aspects that she passes on through her work as a professional advisor, speaker and mentor. Her passion is people, and helping others to achieve their dream of having success in their lives has been the next natural progression in Tracey’s career path.
Ian Perkins knows the power of strategically building a business voice, it has enabled him to build a number of companies into market leading positions and sell them at their peak. By his mid-twenties, Ian Perkins was building his family business Associated Fashion Distributors (AFD) into one of the largest fashion agencies in Australia, representing Table Eight, Dolina, Aero, Stitches, Black Pepper, Sunshades – just to name a few. After selling AFD, he joined Geiger Enterprises as Managing Director, where he strategically moved all production and distribution of their three brands Geiger, Lavender Road and Blue Skies offshore to China. He purchased two of the brands and focused on balancing successful wholesale relationships with national department store chain David Jones and in excess of 500 boutiques around Australia and New Zealand, as well as building a key concession business with Harris Scarfe. Ian Perkins now spends his time strategically building business voices for other business owners, locally, nationally and internationally.
Peter Gash has been the Chief Pilot of Seair Pacific since 1989. In 1985 Peter commenced his first aviation business and made the decision that his future was in aviation/tourism. Peter initially learned to fly seaplanes and saw the potential that aviation and tourism offered on the Gold Coast. He offered joy flights on the beach at Tipplers Resort (Gold Coast) and Great Barrier Reef Day Tours to Lady Musgrave Island. This eventually led to Peter buying Seair Pacific, initially with 1 aircraft. Peter has since grown the business to 10 aircrafts, with hangars and facilities at both Coolangatta and Hervey Bay airport along with approximately 100 employees. Peter is also the Managing Director and Leaseholder of Lady Elliot Island. He has transformed the tiny island, located at the southernmost end of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef from wasteland to ecotourism destination.
Jeff’s family has been active in the Queensland agricultural industry since 1873, and has over 14 years of global experience providing management and leadership, strategy, restructuring, acquisition, finance and technical expertise across multiple sectors. Jeff has authored white papers on strategic land use, food security and sustainable development. He also has extensive knowledge and experience of over 20 years in biochemistry and physiology diagnostics with particular expertise in the innate immune system and optimising gut and organ health naturally.
Kimberley Goulter works in Tourism and Event Queensland (TEQ)’s Experience Development team and has spent over 10 years working in tourism development and marketing. Growing up on a small property near Millmerran and starting her career at Toowoomba and Golden West Tourism, Kim has a passion for regional tourism. Her varied roles and experience at TEQ has allowed her to work with a broad range of tourism and event operators, regional and local tourism organisations and local councils across Queensland. Most recently, Kim’s role in TEQ’s Global Marketing Group has enabled her to help lead the organisation’s shift towards experience marketing, which has involved the evolution and implementation of Queensland’s Experience Framework and Best of Queensland Experiences program.
Matt has spent the last 19 years of his career working in marketing, tourism and property development industries. Over this period, he has developed and managed numerous brand and communication marketing campaigns for Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ), Honeycombes Property Group and the Mirvac Group. In his current role as a Director with TEQ, his objectives are to lead the strategic direction, marketing and experience development for the Outback and Country Queensland regions.
Dr Jane Summers
Associate Professor Jane Summers has extensive experience in strategy development and implementing organizational and process change at the University of Southern Queensland. Jane has fantastic people and communication skills and has the ability to build rapport and effectively engage with people from diverse backgrounds to achieve organizational goals. Jane is currently the Chair of Southern Queensland Country Tourism regional tourism association based in Toowoomba. She has also assisted Toowoomba Regional Council and Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce and Industry during her career to provide short professional development presentations and workshops for local business in the area of marketing and consumer psychology.
